{"id":79872,"date":"2026-06-23T23:07:40","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T23:07:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dralysstore.com\/blog\/?p=79872"},"modified":"2026-06-23T23:07:41","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T23:07:41","slug":"bings-ai-performance-report-gets-better-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dralysstore.com\/blog\/bings-ai-performance-report-gets-better-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Bing\u2019s AI Performance Report Gets Better"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"penci-post-entry-inner\">\n<p>\t\t\t<i class=\"penci-post-countview-number-check\" style=\"display:none\">124<\/i><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Unlike traditional search listings, optimizing for visibility in generative AI answers is difficult owing to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/better-metrics-for-ai-search-visibility\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lack<\/a> of native performance reports.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPerformance\u201d section of Google\u2019s Search Console combines AI Overviews and traditional organic listings, leaving optimizers to guess which channel drove visibility and traffic. ChatGPT shares metrics <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/better-metrics-for-ai-search-visibility\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">only with publishers<\/a> that have licensed content to OpenAI.<\/p>\n<p>Bing is the first platform to offer some transparency. Earlier this year, a few weeks after publishing its \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/new-microsoft-retail-ai-guide-echoes-seo\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guide to AEO and GEO<\/a>,\u201d Bing launched an \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/webmasters\/help\/ai-performance-9f8e7d6c\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">AI Performance Report<\/a>\u201d in Webmaster Tools. It has now improved the report to make it more useful and actionable.<\/p>\n<h3>AI Performance<\/h3>\n<p>The report tracks citations in Microsoft Copilot, AI-generated summaries in Bing, and select AI partner integrations. Unfortunately, there\u2019s no option to filter by a single channel, and no way to identify the partners.<\/p>\n<p>The report consists of two sections: \u201cGrounding Queries\u201d and \u201cPages.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grounding Queries are \u201cthe key phrases the AI used when retrieving content that was cited in its answer.\u201d In other words, the queries are the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/seo-for-googles-ai-fan-out-results\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fan-out terms<\/a> of Bing\u2019s AI agents to search for answers, though we don\u2019t know which search engines or platforms they access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Pages are the URLs included in the AI answers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For every Grounding Query, the AI Performance Report now includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Query intent (Navigational, Informational, Learn and Solve, Commercial, Conversational, Comparison, and more).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Query topic (Education, Self-Help Books, Mindfulness and Medication, and more).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The average number of unique pages cited per day in AI answers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cCitation share,\u201d which is \u201cthe percentage of citations attributed to your site out of all citations shown for a specific grounding query.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_1564599\" style=\"width: 580px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Bing_AI-Performance-2_0626-e1782132978590.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-1564599\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sort Grouding Queries by Intent, Topic, Citations, or Citation Share. <em>Click image to enlarge.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Users can sort each column and also export the entire report to a spreadsheet for additional sorting and filtering.<\/p>\n<p>Clicking any Grounding Query will display a list of the user\u2019s pages cited for that word or phrase.<\/p>\n<p>The report includes the frequency of each cited page (URL) \u2014 how often it appears \u2014 but not the number of views or clicks. Data<\/h3>\n<p>The updated report includes expanded metrics to track visibility, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All Grounding Queries for a given page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Grounding Queries with fewer citations and thus opportunities for optimizing a page for inclusion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Branded queries with navigational intent to improve answer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/search-console-adds-brand-filters\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">brand-driven<\/a> questions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Pages with higher citation share to reverse engineer for other Grounding Queries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Grounding Queries by topic to identify related pages for internal linking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Internal pages that show for the same Grounded Queries for potential <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/how-google-detects-duplicate-content\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">duplicate intent<\/a> to fix.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Pages with few Grounding Queries, to improve the content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Getting Started<\/h3>\n<p>Setting up Bing Webmaster Tools takes only a couple of minutes with Search Console enabled.<\/p>\n<p>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/webmasters\/about\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">Webmaster Tools<\/a> with your Microsoft account, click \u201cAdd site,\u201d and choose \u201cImport your sites from GSC.\u201d Allow roughly 24 hours for Bing to collect and report the data.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div
