{"id":78167,"date":"2026-02-23T12:37:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T12:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dralysstore.com\/blog\/ai-prompts-come-to-search-console\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T08:29:30","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T08:29:30","slug":"ai-prompts-come-to-search-console","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dralysstore.com\/blog\/ai-prompts-come-to-search-console\/","title":{"rendered":"AI Prompts Come to Search Console"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Google Search Console\u2019s AI analysis went public last week after being available to select users.<\/p>\n<p>The feature,\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">in the\u00a0<em>Performance &gt; Search results<\/em> tab, enables insights on a site\u2019s organic search performance by entering generative AI-like<\/span> prompts.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll provide examples in this post.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1561013\" style=\"width: 580px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Search-Console-AI-analysis.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-1561013\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Search Console\u2019s AI analysis responds to genAI-like prompts. <em>Click image to enlarge.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Query analysis<\/h3>\n<p>Instead of using prebuilt filters to discern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/seo-tools-for-keyword-intent-audience\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">various types<\/a> of searches, users can enter prompts, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cShow question-like queries.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cFilter queries longer than [xx] characters.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cShow informational queries.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The feature initially responds to the prompts with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/regex-in-gsc-reveals-chatgpt-searches\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regular expressions<\/a>. For example, for the prompt, \u201cShow queries with informational intent,\u201d it created the following regex:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Queries matching regex: (what|how|why|guide|tutorial|explain|definition|example|best way to|steps to|tips for|reasons why|benefits of|difference between)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I could then click \u201cApply\u201d to see the filtered results.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, I prompted \u201cShow product research queries.\u201d The feature responded:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Queries matching regex:<\/em><em>(best|review|compare|vs|price|buy|alternatives|guide|recommendations |features|specs|cost|discount|deal|sale|where to buy|how to choose|top rated|pros and cons)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Again, I could \u201cApply\u201d or \u201cDismiss\u201d that regex.<\/p>\n<h3>Brand search<\/h3>\n<p>The AI analysis performed surprisingly well on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/brand-visibility-is-the-new-seo\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">brand-name searches<\/a>. I prompted, \u201cShow branded queries.\u201d The regex responses included my brand name and a one- and two-word pattern:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Queries matching regex: <\/em><em>(brandname|brand name)<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Traffic drop<\/h3>\n<p>Search Console\u2019s AI analysis can assemble <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/pinpoint-traffic-drops-with-search-console-ga4\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">traffic change<\/a> reports. For example, I prompted:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cShow pages that lost the most clicks over the past 30 days.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cCompare clicks last month with the same month of the previous year.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Country-specific<\/h3>\n<p>Users can also evaluate organic search visibility <a href=\"https:\/\/www.practicalecommerce.com\/seo-how-to-target-countries\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in countries<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cShow me clicks, Average CTR, and Average Position of my queries in Canada last month.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here\u2019s a prompt for traffic changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cShow pages that lost the most clicks over the past 30 days in Canada.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Limitations<\/h3>\n<p>The new AI feature, while helpful, is not a game-changer. Inexperienced users do not typically know what to ask, while seasoned pros can go directly to the prebuilt filters.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the AI integration works only with top filters. It cannot process requests for filters unavailable in the Performance reports.
