DigiKey has introduced an online tool that allows engineers and system designers to configure custom power-supply units.<\/p>\n

The company said the move will shorten design timelines and simplify procurement. DigiKey is a major U.S.-based distributor of electronic components and automation products.<\/p>\n

About DigiKey\u2019s new online configuration tool<\/h2>\n

The web-based configurator lets users define key requirements such as output count, voltage and current. It then generates a tailored design that can be assembled and shipped within days. That replaces a process that often requires multiple rounds of back-and-forth review with suppliers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis tool allows our customers to configure their own power supply independently,\u201d said Heather Fulara, DigiKey\u2019s senior director of interconnect and electromechanical. \u201cIt reduces the time it takes to acquire a configured unit, which supports more efficient workflows.\u201d<\/p>\n

The initial products supported on the platform are Vox Power\u2019s NEVO+ and VCCM series. Marco Prinsloo, co-owner of Vox Power, said the company joined the tool to give buyers a more direct path to configurable units.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe trust DigiKey\u2019s expertise in making our customers\u2019 designs come together through its online design and customization options,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

DigiKey said it plans to add more suppliers and product families to the configurator over time.<\/p>\n
