{"id":76708,"date":"2025-11-23T11:27:43","date_gmt":"2025-11-23T11:27:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dralysstore.com\/blog\/?p=76708"},"modified":"2025-11-23T11:27:43","modified_gmt":"2025-11-23T11:27:43","slug":"trump-administration-might-not-fight-state-ai-regulations-after-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dralysstore.com\/blog\/trump-administration-might-not-fight-state-ai-regulations-after-all\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump administration might not fight state AI regulations after all"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Trump administration has been targeting state-level AI regulation, with the president declaring in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/115572931492563128\" target=\"_blank\">a social media post<\/a> this week that the industry needs \u201cone Federal Standard instead of a patchwork of 50 State Regulatory Regimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This comes after a 10-year ban on state AI regulation was initially included in Trump\u2019s \u201cBig Beautiful Bill\u201d before ultimately getting <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/01\/us-senate-removes-controversial-ai-moratorium-from-budget-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">removed by the Senate<\/a> in a 99-1 vote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The idea then apparently took on a new form, with the administration <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/20\/trump-ai-executive-order-state-funding.html\" target=\"_blank\">reportedly drafting an executive order<\/a> that would establish an AI Litigation Task Force with a mission to challenge state AI laws through lawsuits. States with contested AI laws would also reportedly be threatened with the loss of federal broadband funding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, Reuters reports that <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/white-house-pauses-executive-order-that-would-seek-preempt-state-laws-ai-sources-2025-11-21\/\" target=\"_blank\">the executive order has been put on hold<\/a>.
